Term 3 Week 10
Principal's Report

Happy Holidays
The kids are excited about a number of events that will wrap up another busy term.
Tonight’s disco is a celebration of the strong working partnership between the school and the P&C, who will be working together to entertain, feed the kids and dance the night away, while on Thursday, our Student Representative Council will be supporting the organisation of our ‘Dress as your Letter’ day to raise funds for Stewart House.
Thanks as always for your ongoing support and helping us finish another Term 3 with a celebratory spirit!
Hoping you all get some sort of break over the next two weeks.
We are all looking forward to welcoming you back next term and hearing stories of your adventures.
Student Emails - Information for Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 Parents and Carers:
During the spring school holidays, the usernames of students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2, that are used by children to access the Department’s online programs and their emails will be changed to the department’s new shortened format (student initials and the last 4 digits of their student reference number, such as JS1234 for example).
To ensure all student email accounts are being used for their educational purposes and reduce cybersecurity risks, the Department of Education will be restricting the use of student email addresses for signing up for, and recovering access to, social media, gaming, instant messaging and similar platforms.
We know some students use their school email addresses to access third-party platforms.
Please discuss with your children that they need to update their accounts with a personal email address or mobile number instead of using their student email address by Day 1 Term 4.
Information re the new usernames will be sent home next term.
Students Arriving Before 8:30am - A Reminder
With financial pressures nipping at the heels of most of our families, parents/carers are needing to make changes to their budgets and in turn daily routines, to make ends meet.
We are seeing the impact of these decisions with the number of children coming to school before the 8:30am bell.
While we understand the pressures on families, children arriving at school before 8:30am are not supervised and therefore present a significant safety issue.
Over the holidays, families are asked to review their morning routines so their kids are arriving at school at or after 8:30am.
Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep all students safe.
Wishing you all a restful, joyful holiday – we can’t wait to see you back next term!

Learning and Growing Together

Last week in the Support Unit, our students worked hard and were having fun across a variety of learning experiences!
In Mathematics, they focused on measuring lengths. Students practiced using rulers and other measuring tools to explore everyday items, comparing, estimating, and recording their findings. It was a fantastic hands-on way to strengthen numeracy skills while learning practical applications.
During Sport, we focused on building core strength, improving teamwork, and practicing sharing and turn-taking. Through a mix of group games and physical challenges, students supported each other, encouraged their peers, and showed great perseverance. It was wonderful to see how physical activity also helped build confidence and connection within the group.
Each session not only helped develop important academic and physical skills, but also supported social growth, a key part of our Support Unit’s approach to learning.
Well done to all our students for their efforts and enthusiasm!

Stage 3 Camp

Last week, Stage 3 students had an incredibly positive and memorable experience at camp. The program was packed with exciting and challenging outdoor activities that encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones, work collaboratively, and develop independence.
Stage 3 Camp was a highly successful and rewarding experience for all involved. Students returned with lasting memories, strengthened friendships, and a sense of achievement. The experience will no doubt remain a highlight of their primary school years.

K-2 Athletics Carnival

Yesterday our youngest athletes gave it their all at the K-2 Athletics Carnival, showing off their energy, enthusiasm, and incredible running skills. From sprints to novelty races, the day was filled with laughter, cheering, and community spirit — even the parents joined in on the action! A big thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable event.

Assembly Items
We kicked off the week with a fantastic Monday K-6 Assembly, beautifully hosted by K Buttercup and 4 Scarlet!
Both classes did an amazing job leading us through the program with confidence and enthusiasm. A big thank you to all the students and teachers involved for making it such a positive and engaging start to the week.
The image below shows our delightful Kindy students enjoying the assembly — their smiles say it all!

Mrs Kelly's News
Book of the Week:
You may have heard of the Paperbag Princess before. This is not a new book but it is a classic. If you are looking for books that show empowerment and strength of character then this is the book for you! This book has sold over 7 million copies and children aged 3 to 8 years old will love this story.

Independent Author Study
During our library lessons our students are free to choose books that they show an interest in. The library is a low pressure environment where students are encouraged to decide for themselves what kind of reader they want to be. Lately some of our students have discovered the work of Julia Donaldson. Her rhyming patterns and interesting characters have inspired these students to the point where they are doing a deep dive into all of her books!

Chapter Champs Book Club
Every week students are invited to the library at recess time for a meeting of the Chapter Champs Book Club.
Students enjoy discussing their favourite books and they are starting to notice that other students sometimes like the same books too. This also helps to build friendships through similar book interests.
What is the most popular book? Dragon Girls!
Premier’s Reading Challenge:
The Premier’s Reading Challenge is now finished.
We had a tremendous amount of students finish this year and we look forward to seeing them receive their awards at the end of the year.
